A polysyndeton is the use of multiple coordinating conjunctions, such as "and", "or", "but", and "nor", in quick succession. The conjunctions are often placed where they are not needed and can be replaced by commas. They join words and phrases while creating rhythm and emphasis on specific things with the repetition of several conjunctions.

example: Joshua 7:24 in the Bible

"And Joshua, and all of Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had."
